We’re a big fan of doing fun things for kids if you’re inviting them to your wedding. A dear friend sent us these sweet books to keep children entertained at weddings

Called “Something To Keep You Happy At A Wedding” these sweet books from Two Little Boys in Lark Made. The booklets are filled with colouring in pictures, word puzzles and other age appropriate games t keep little minds occupied.
Our favourite notebooks though are these fun ones about dreams and plans. Not only are we big fans of encouraging kids to dream big, but we also think these would make a sweet wedding favour placed on each child’s place setting. You can buy these through Lark Made.

It’s the last month of summer and the peaches are at their best . Use in pies, cakes, tiny tarts or fresh in a fruit salad with other summer fruit.

A rocket salad featuring peaches and goats cheese could be yummy or even grilled on a barbeque and served with prawns.

Used in Bellinis with champagne they will provide a festive summer cocktail, or create your own ‘mocktail’ by juicing peaches with other fruits, serving on ice with a mint leaf garnish or a swizzle stick.

Elegant in their rosy glory, poached and served with raspberry sauce, they are a treat for the eye as well as the tastebuds. And who could forget a peach Melba?
What about a dessert table featuring peaches in all their different guises?

Perfumed flowers are a joy to the senses at any time, but at a wedding they add an extra note to the celebrations.

Flowers by Stewart
Include them in your wedding bouquet, in arrangements on the tables, tucked into an archway of flowers and greenery, or tied in small bunches to the church pews or the backs of your chairs at the reception.

Flowers to consider are bulbs such as paperwhites (narcissus), hyacinths, and lily of the valley. Some carnations have a clove like scent as do lilies. Gardenias, lilacs, jasmine and scented roses have an old fashioned air and a wonderful fragrance. In the tropics who could go past frangipani for the perfume and their beauty?

It’s best to be disciplined in your approach and chose just one perfumed flower to use in your arrangements – more will confuse the senses and become overwhelming!
